An absurd incident broke out in an Indian village due to this exact issue.

This is a village in Uttar Pradesh, India.

A man is tied tightly to a telecommunication cell tower with rope.

The man is a technician for a local telecom company, and angry residents captured and tied him up because poor mobile network conditions persisted.

The residents claimed that mobile phone reception had been poor for a staggering two years, and even when using a 5G data plan, they could barely get proper 4G service.

The technician, who had visited the site to conduct an inspection, was bound to the cell tower for about two hours before he was finally able to be freed after police arrived.

Police arrested six residents on charges including illegal confinement.
