A group that extorted money by falsely claiming their teeth were broken after finding stones in their food has been handed over to the prosecution.

Police forwarded one suspect in their 30s to the prosecution in custody and two accomplices without detention on charges of extorting a total of 20 million won from 67 restaurant owners while traveling through the Chungcheong and Gyeonggi regions from February to June.

They prepared the stones in advance.

Afterwards, they pretended to find a stone in their food and demanded medical expenses and settlement money, claiming their teeth were chipped.

They also created a threatening atmosphere by displaying their tattoos.

The amounts they extorted ranged from as little as 30,000 won to as much as 1.7 million won.

When owners recommended hospital treatment or processing through insurance, the suspects pressured them for cash settlements by saying things like, "I'm busy and need to resolve this quickly and leave," or "I have to move on to another region."

Police plan to continue their investigation, believing there may be additional victims.

Such terrible people.
