Kim Si-woo, who has delivered strong performances this year on the PGA Tour including three runner-up finishes, will compete in the Genesis Championship (total purse of $4.0 million), scheduled to be held from October 22 to 25 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

Tournament organizers announced today (the 15th) that "Kim Si-woo, who has put on stellar performances on the PGA Tour this year, has confirmed his participation in the Genesis Championship."

As a result, Kim will compete for the title at the Genesis Championship for the second consecutive year.

Sungjae Im, who also competes on the PGA stage, previously confirmed his participation in the tournament, allowing domestic fans to watch Kim and Im compete side by side in person.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary since its inception in 2017, the Genesis Championship is co-sanctioned by the KPGA Tour and the DP World Tour, standing as South Korea's largest international professional golf tournament with a total purse of $4.0 million (approx. 5.4 billion KRW).

With 11 top-10 finishes this season on the PGA stage—including three runner-up finishes—Kim is currently ranked 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking, making him the highest-ranked player from both South Korea and all of Asia.

Having finished tied for 21st at last year's tournament, Kim is aiming for the championship title this time around.

"I am very happy to return to the Genesis Championship this year," Kim said. "The support from the fans during last year's tournament was truly overwhelming."

"I look forward to meeting the fans again this year and putting on a great performance," he added.

The winner of this tournament will receive a prize of $680,000 (approx. 920 million KRW), a Genesis vehicle, and playing privileges on the KPGA Tour and the DP World Tour for the 2027–2028 seasons.

The winner will also be awarded 1,300 Genesis points and 835 Race to Dubai ranking points.

Among the KPGA Tour players participating, the highest finisher will earn an exemption into the Genesis Scottish Open, co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour in 2027.
