A five-vehicle collision near the Cheonggye Toll Gate in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, has left one driver dead.

At around 9:10 a.m. today (the 15th), a dump truck rear-ended five passenger cars moving ahead of it near the Cheonggye Toll Gate on the Capital Region First Ring Expressway heading toward Pyeongchon in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province.

The accident caused a fire in one of the passenger cars, resulting in one occupant being found dead, while another person in a different vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Two lanes have been restricted to handle the aftermath of the accident, causing traffic congestion.

Police believe the crash occurred due to the dump truck driver's failure to maintain a proper lookout ahead and are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
