Comedian Lee Bong-won opened up about how his perspective on life and his relationship with his wife, Park Mi-sun, changed after supporting her through her battle with cancer.

Appearing on the YouTube channel "Shin-yeosung" released on the 14th, Lee reflected on the moment he first learned of Park's cancer diagnosis. "When I first received the news via text message, my mind went completely blank and I couldn't think of anything," he recalled. "My only thought was that she needed to undergo good treatment and get better quickly."

He continued, "Realizing that I hadn't been attentive enough in the past, I made sure to travel up from Cheonan and accompany her to every hospital visit. I hadn't been great at expressing my feelings before, but it made me realize I need to show it much more." He added, "After she successfully received treatment and we recently worked on a program together, these days we feel a different kind of joy compared to our early newlyweds days. It made me realize all over again just how precious she is."

Lee mentioned his remarkably changed attitude. He shared, "I waited for hours at a famous bakery in Daejeon to buy her a birthday cake, and went on a trip with our son and daughter where I set up a fireworks event for her." He especially added, "I used to drink about 380 times a year, including daytime drinking, but now I've cut it down to once or twice a week."

He also addressed rumors surrounding his past business failures. Recalling how citizens on the street would hit him on the back and tell him, "Don't make your wife suffer," Lee humorously explained, "Many people seem to think my wife funded all my business ventures. Even though we are a married couple, we kept our finances strict. I borrowed money, used it, and paid it all back. If I didn't pay it back by the due date, I'd get a text message." He added his signature humor, saying, "Still, since we're a married couple, I told her I couldn't pay interest."

Additionally, Lee candidly admitted that he didn't consult with his wife, Park Mi-sun, when trying new things or taking on challenges, saying, "Even when I went to the Himalayas, I told her the day before, and I told her about opening the Jjamppong restaurant in Cheonan just a week prior." This prompted playful scolding from MCs Lee Kyung-sil and Cho Hye-ryun, bringing laughter to the set.
