A special hotel modeled after the "Poké Ball," an iconic item from the popular game franchise "Pokémon," has appeared in Hokkaido, Japan, drawing attention.

According to the Asahi Shimbun and other media outlets on the 15th, space planning and hospitality startup "Not A Hotel" unveiled the special Poké Ball-shaped hotel, measuring 3 meters in diameter, built quietly by a lakeside in a forest in Tomakomai, Hokkaido the previous day.

This hotel was created as part of an event campaign for "Pokémon Sleep," a sleep-tracking mobile game.

It is equipped with high-quality custom circular mattresses, lighting, and an air conditioning system to ensure guests enjoy a cozy night's sleep with the feeling of actually becoming a Pokémon.

It also features a function where guests can select their favorite Pokémon on an in-room tablet PC, which then triggers themed lighting effects tailored to that character's concept when the lights go out.

An annex building equipped with shower facilities is decorated with tiles mimicking the colors of Snorlax (known as Kabigon in Japan), a character known for constantly sleeping. Guests can also enjoy displays featuring sleeping Pokémon at a dedicated dining space located a five-minute walk away.

Not A Hotel stated, "While faithfully reflecting the unique worldview of Pokémon, we have also prepared various devices to enhance sleep quality, such as mattresses and lighting."

The hotel will not be open to the general public; overnight stays will be exclusively provided to 10 selected groups (totaling 20 people) who download the app and apply through a dedicated website.
