While director Lee Chang-dong's new film "Possible Love" received the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival, his previous works such as "Secret Sunshine" and "Oasis" are set to be released overseas through Netflix.
Netflix announced yesterday (the 14th) that it is launching global streaming so that more domestic and international audiences can experience the masterpieces of director Lee Chang-dong.
Streaming of "Green Fish" and "Secret Sunshine" began in late last month in countries including the UK, France, and Australia, while "Peppermint Candy" and "Oasis" were released in Italy and Spain starting from the 4th.
Additionally, "Poetry" and "Burning" are scheduled to be introduced in countries like Japan and the US.
Netflix explained that this release was prepared for overseas audiences who have developed an interest in director Lee's works following "Possible Love".
"Possible Love", which has been recognized for its artistic quality with the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, will be released in domestic theaters on the 23rd and will be available globally through Netflix starting November 6.
