The running craze shows no sign of cooling down these days, and marathon events are enjoying soaring popularity.
However, a marathon held in the middle of a flood in the United States is drawing attention.
This is a half marathon held in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
But is this really the course the runners are supposed to take?
A sudden downpour caused water to pool everywhere.
In some sections, the water rose up to waist height, and participants held onto each other to avoid being swept away by the strong current.
As the water was deeper than expected and flooded sections kept appearing, some runners ultimately gave up on finishing the race.
At this point, isn't it more like swimming than running?
Participants expressed regret over the organizers' response, saying the course should have been changed.
