Park Jin-ho, a two-time gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, has claimed the top spot at the 2026 Changwon World Shooting Para Sports Championships by setting a new world record.

Park captured the gold medal by scoring 354.7 points in the final of the R7 men's 50m rifle 3-positions individual event (sport class SH1), held at the Changwon International Shooting Range in South Gyeongsang Province on the 13th.

Park also teamed up with Lee Jang-ho and Kim Su-wan to win the gold medal in the R7 team event, combining for a preliminary world record of 1,736 points (56 inner 10s).

Lee Yoon-ri won the R8 women's 50m rifle 3-positions individual event (sport class SH1) with a score of 353.7 points.

Kim Su-wan and Lee Yoon-ri secured qualification quotas for the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Paralympics.

South Korea's total number of secured qualification quotas for this tournament has increased to five.
