The film 'The Odyssey' has claimed the top spot at the weekend box office for six consecutive weeks.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing computer network on the 14th, 'The Odyssey' attracted 449,039 moviegoers nationwide from the 11th to the 13th. Its cumulative audience has reached 10,782,278.

Having premiered on the 5th of last month, 'The Odyssey' has maintained its position as the No. 1 box office hit for 40 straight days. This marks the longest streak for a foreign film released in South Korea since 2010. The previous record holders were 'Avatar: The Way of Water' and 'Suzume', both of which held the top spot for 35 consecutive days.

Having successfully surpassed the 10 million viewer milestone in 33 days since its release, 'The Odyssey' continues to draw the largest crowds even in its sixth week, effortlessly brushing off challenges from new releases.

The second place at the box office went to 'Obsession', which gathered 176,468 viewers during the same period. Having surpassed 500 million dollars at the global box office to become Hollywood's most surprising box office hit of the year, 'Obsession' is performing strongly amid favorable reviews from domestic audiences as well. Its cumulative audience stands at 474,807.
