The Doosan Bears fended off a fierce chase from the NC Dinos to take another step closer to the fall postseason.

In a home game against the NC Dinos in the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Jamsil Stadium today (the 13th), the Doosan Bears unleashed three home runs to secure a 9-2 victory.

Avenging their loss from the previous day, the fifth-place Doosan Bears recorded 64 wins, 60 losses, and 4 draws with a win percentage of 0.516, pushing the sixth-place NC Dinos (59 wins, 61 losses, 2 draws, win percentage 0.492) down by 3 games.

Doosan opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning with a sacrifice fly by Ahn Jae-seok with one out and bases loaded, followed by Jung Soo-bin hitting a two-run double to right field and Park Chan-ho hitting an RBI single to center, taking a 4-0 lead.

In the third inning, following a two-run homer by Kim Min-seok, Junior Severino hit back-to-back home runs to widen the gap to 7-0.

NC clawed back two runs in the top of the fourth inning with Park Kun-woo's triple and Ahn Joong-yeol's RBI single.

However, Doosan sealed the game in the bottom of the fifth when Yang Eui-ji hit a solo arch to pull ahead 8-2.

Doosan starting pitcher Choi Min-seok allowed 8 hits over 5 innings but struck out 4 batters while giving up 2 runs, earning his 14th win (4 losses) of the season to maintain a tie for the most wins.

NC's four-game winning streak was halted.

In Suwon, sole leader KT Wiz defeated the Lotte Giants 5-2.

Extending their winning streak to six games, KT pulled 2 games ahead of the second-place Samsung Lions, who lost today.

KT took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Ahn Hyun-min brought home Kim Min-hyuk, who had hit a double, with a single to left field.

In the third inning, with one out and runners on first and second, Ahn Hyun-min's double and a balk added two runs to make it 3-0.

Lotte clawed back two runs in the top of the fifth inning with Hwang Seong-bin's triple and Victor Reyes's infield single.

However, after the sides changed, KT's Sam Hilliard launched a two-run homer to right-center field to pull ahead 5-2.

Hwang Jae-gyun, who took off his KT uniform after last season, held his retirement ceremony on this day.

Registered on a special entry, Hwang Jae-gyun came in as a pinch hitter for the 9th batter Kwon Dong-jin in the bottom of the 6th inning with KT leading 5-2, but struck out swinging against Lotte pitcher Lee Young-jae.

The KIA Tigers, welcomed back by Kim Do-young returning after undergoing surgery for a fractured nose, defeated the Hanwha Eagles 9-2 in their home game in Gwangju.

KIA seized early control in the bottom of the first inning when Na Sung-bum hit a two-run RBI single.

Hanwha tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kang Baek-ho hit a two-run homer over center field.

However, after the sides changed, Harold Castro hit a solo home run to right-center field to put KIA back ahead 3-2.

Adding a run in the fifth inning following Park Jae-hyun's triple and Kim Do-young's RBI single to left field, KIA widened the gap to 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth with Jung Hyun-chang's double.

Kim Do-young added an RBI with a single to center field in the bottom of the seventh, and further drove in another run with a double down the left-field line in the bottom of the eighth.

Returning after four days, Kim Do-young recorded 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 walk, 3 RBIs, and 1 run scored, while also establishing the record for the youngest player in history to achieve 40 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 100 runs.

In Daegu, the LG Twins pounded the Samsung Lions 13-5, racking up 14 hits including three home runs.

Samsung took the initiative in the bottom of the first inning when Park Seung-gyu hit a two-run home run over left field.

However, LG tied the game 2-2 in the top of the third with Song Chan-ui's RBI single, and then scored five runs in the top of the fourth highlighted by Austin Dean's three-run homer to turn the game around 7-2.

Trailing 2-9, Samsung saw Park Seung-gyu hit another solo home run in the bottom of the sixth.

However, LG sealed the victory as Oh Ji-hwan hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh and consecutive arch two-run homers in the top of the eighth.

Recording his 39th of the season, Austin broke the LG club record for the most home runs in a single season.

LG starting pitcher Im Chan-gyu held Samsung to 4 runs on 7 hits over 7 innings, picking up his 14th win (5 losses) of the season to share the lead for most wins with Choi Min-seok.
