11-Ton Truck Drowsy Driving Causes 10-Vehicle Chain Collision in Incheon, 5 Injured

At around 8:37 p.m. today (Sept. 12), an 11-ton truck driven by a man in his 40s, identified as A, rear-ended a passenger car waiting at a traffic light at Gyeongseo Three-Way Intersection in Seohae-gu, Incheon.

The impact pushed the car forward, triggering a chain reaction that damaged 10 vehicles, including a motorcycle. A total of five people were injured and transported to hospitals by 119 emergency services for treatment.

During police questioning, A stated, "I was driving drowsy and failed to properly see the vehicle ahead."

A police official stated, "The five injured people were not seriously hurt and are classified as having minor injuries," adding, "We plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident."
