A fire broke out on a mountain in Hodang-ri, Cheongtong-myeon, Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, at 1:35 p.m. today (the 12th) and was extinguished in about an hour and 30 minutes.

The fire left a man in his 60s with burns as he tried to put out the flames, and caused damage to 0.05 hectares of forest.

Fire authorities stated, "The fire is presumed to have been accidentally caused by a visitor tending to ancestral graves ahead of Chuseok," adding, "We are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire."
