Actor and singer Kim Min-jong has withdrawn his lawsuit against junior singer MC Mong, who raised false allegations of illegal gambling and spread insulting rumors, while sharing his feelings regarding the past 110 days.
Law firm OhKims, Kim's legal representative, announced on the 9th that they officially withdrew the complaint filed against MC Mong at the Seoul Jongno Police Station on the 1st of this month on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. They explained that this decision came after MC Mong acknowledged his wrongdoing and apologized directly for his remarks.
In response, some voiced reactions that they could not understand the background behind the cancellation of the lawsuit. Consequently, Kim shared his feelings leading up to the decision through a direct official statement.
Kim stated, "Many people who heard the news expressed words of concern, asking 'Why are you dropping the lawsuit so easily?' But no matter what more is said or done, what is past is past, and the water is already spilled. After deep deliberation for my own sake, to take the time to meet a better version of myself in the future, I made this decision."
He emphasized, "Those 110 days are a time I can never forget in my life," adding, "I think it was a time where I lost a lot because of it, but also gained a lot. I bow my head in deep gratitude and offer my apologies to the many people who believed in and supported me through that process. I promise to reflect even more deeply and live diligently and earnestly to become a better person."
Back in May, MC Mong mentioned Kim's real name during his personal live broadcast and raised suspicions of his involvement in gambling. MC Mong claimed that "Kim Min-jong is a member of baduk-i gambling and receives tips at a gambling house with stakes of tens of millions of won." Kim's side stated that in the aftermath of this incident, discussions regarding his upcoming Hollywood project were suspended and ongoing advertising contracts fell through, causing financial and mental damage.
Subsequently, MC Mong issued a public apology via his TikTok live broadcast on September 5. He admitted that he emotionally criticized his senior, Kim Min-jong, without verifying the facts, and asked for forgiveness. Following the lawsuit, the two met in person to talk, during which MC Mong reportedly acknowledged his mistakes and repeatedly apologized.

Hello, this is Kim Min-jong.
As of yesterday, I have withdrawn the lawsuit filed against MC Mong. Many people who heard the news expressed words of concern, asking "Why are you dropping the lawsuit so easily?" But no matter what more is said or done, what is past is past, and the water is already spilled. After deep deliberation for my own sake, to take the time to meet a better version of myself in the future, I made this decision.
To me, those 110 days are a time I can never forget in my life. I think it was a time where I lost a lot because of it, but also gained a lot. I bow my head in deep gratitude and offer my apologies to the many people who believed in and supported me through that process.
Moving forward, I, Kim Min-jong, will reflect even more deeply and live diligently and earnestly to become a better Min-jong. I am so sorry. And thank you so much.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Kim Min-jong
