The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has claimed that it struck a U.S. military unmanned reconnaissance vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, while warning of a blockade of the strait and additional attacks.

According to Iranian state-run broadcaster IRIB and other sources on the 10th (local time), Ali Azmayee, commander of the Revolutionary Guard Navy, stated, "We targeted and struck a U.S. spy unmanned vessel bearing hull number 5838 in the Strait of Hormuz."

Commander Azmayee threatened, "The Strait of Hormuz is currently blockaded and under the intelligence surveillance and smart control of the Revolutionary Guard," adding, "Any hostile movement will become a target for attack."

Previously, the Revolutionary Guard Navy also claimed on the 8th that it had seized a state-of-the-art U.S. military unmanned submersible in the Strait of Hormuz.
