On the first day of the season's third major tournament, Seo Gyo-rim drew first blood.

Seo Gyo-rim and Kim Min-sol each secured a victory in the previous two majors, and they are currently battling it out for the top two spots in multiple wins, Player of the Year points, scoring average, and prize money rankings.

Returning after a one-week break due to a wrist injury, Seo Gyo-rim got off to a smooth start in pursuit of her fifth win of the season and second major title.

Displaying precise iron shots landing right next to the pin, along with a lucky birdie putt that circled the rim before dropping in, she shot a 3-under-par on the opening day to tie for second place, two strokes behind leader Hong Jin-young.

Meanwhile, Kim Min-sol struggled to a 4-over-par, leaving Seo Gyo-rim seven strokes ahead after the first round of the "Rim-Sol Showdown."
