Actor and singer Kim Min-jong has opened up about his feelings over the past 110 days after withdrawing his lawsuit against junior singer MC Mong, who had spread malicious false rumors accusing him of illegal gambling.
Kim's legal representative, Law Firm Oh Kims, announced that they officially withdrew the complaint filed against MC Mong at the Jongno Police Station in Seoul on the 9th, under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. The decision followed MC Mong's admission of fault and direct apology for his remarks.
While some expressed confusion over the sudden withdrawal, Kim shared his feelings and the reasoning behind the decision through a direct statement.
Kim stated, "Many people who heard the news expressed worry, asking why I would drop the lawsuit so easily. However, what is done is done, and it is water under the bridge. After deep deliberation, I made this decision for myself, to take time to meet a better version of me moving forward."
He emphasized, "Those 110 days are a time I will never forget in my life," adding, "I think it was a time where I lost a lot, but also gained a lot. I bow my head in deep gratitude and apologize to the many people who trusted and cheered for me through that process. I promise to reflect more deeply and live diligently so that I can become a better person."
Back in May, MC Mong mentioned Kim by name during a personal live broadcast and raised suspicions regarding his involvement in gambling. MC Mong claimed that Kim was a member of a badduk-i gambling ring and received tips at a gambling house with tens of millions of won in stakes. Kim's side stated that the incident resulted in financial and mental damages, including the suspension of discussions for an upcoming Hollywood project and the cancellation of ongoing commercial contracts.
Later, on September 5, MC Mong issued a public apology via a TikTok live broadcast. He admitted to emotionally criticizing his senior, Kim, without verifying the facts and asked for forgiveness. After the lawsuit was filed, the two met in person to talk, during which MC Mong reportedly acknowledged his mistake and repeatedly apologized.
Below is the full statement from Kim Min-jong.

However, what is done is done, and it is water under the bridge. After deep deliberation, I made this decision for myself, to take time to meet a better version of me moving forward.
Those 110 days are a time I will never forget in my life. I think it was a time where I lost a lot, but also gained a lot. I bow my head in deep gratitude and apologize to the many people who trusted and cheered for me through that process.
Moving forward, I, Kim Min-jong, will reflect more deeply and live diligently to become a better Min-jong. I am so sorry, and thank you so much.
