Healing Paper, the operator of the medical aesthetic information platform Gangnam Unni, is providing app points worth 50,000 won per person to domestic victims of a recent personal information leak.

Healing Paper began accepting applications for the points through a compensation application link within the Gangnam Unni app starting at 10 a.m. today (September 10).

Along with the points, the company is also providing a personal information protection service for free for one year, which includes insurance to cover financial fraud damages resulting from data leaks such as hacking and phishing.

The insurance coverage limit is up to 10 million won per person.

The scale of compensation and distribution schedule for overseas users whose information was leaked will be announced sequentially at a later date.

Healing Paper stated, "We will strengthen protective measures in accordance with information protection investments and management system certification standards, and transparently communicate the improvement process."

Previously, Healing Paper announced via a notice on September 7 that an abnormal access occurred to the application programming interface (API) used to query consultation history on the 4th, resulting in the leakage of information belonging to approximately 220,000 domestic and overseas users.

Among them, South Korean users accounted for the largest share at approximately 160,000, followed by 48,000 in Japan, 4,218 in Taiwan, 1,591 in Thailand, 481 in China, and 5,308 in English-speaking and other countries.
