Statistics Korea announced that it will conduct a 10-day daily price survey starting today through the 23rd to monitor price fluctuations of holiday items in real time ahead of Chuseok.

The survey covers a total of 36 major items, including representative holiday goods such as beef and croaker, as well as petroleum products and dining-out items.

Specifically, the items include 24 agricultural, livestock, and marine products (such as apples, pears, chestnuts, beef, eggs, and croakers), 5 processed foods (such as flour, tofu, and cooking oil), 3 petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, and kerosene), and 4 dining-out items (such as pork belly and chicken).

Statistics Korea will combine in-person interviews and online surveys across seven major cities, including Seoul and Busan, and share the results with policy ministries on a daily basis.

Statistics Korea Commissioner Ahn Hyeongjun visited Namguro Market in Seoul on the 8th to inspect the price trends of major holiday items such as apples and pears, stating, "The data gathered through the daily price surveys will serve as core foundational material for stabilizing the supply and demand of holiday goods and establishing effective price policies."
