Explosions were heard once again on the local date of the 10th in southern Iran and the Strait of Hormuz region.

According to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, multiple explosions rang out that morning in the southern Iranian regions of Sirik and Minab, as well as Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Authorities in Iran's southern Hormozgan Province stated that the explosions heard near Qeshm Island originated from the direction of the sea.

Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported that "several areas of the southern city of Sirik came under enemy attack."

The perpetrators of the attack, as well as the scale of casualties and facility damage, have not yet been confirmed.

The previous day, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a ballistic missile attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan in retaliation for a U.S. military bombing targeting an Iranian oil tanker.

The United States and Iran have been engaging in armed conflict, trading retaliatory strikes since August 30, when the U.S. military struck an Iranian rocket launcher intended for laying sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
