[Anchor] Finally, following dubjjongku and butter tteok, a dessert called "pizza seolgi" is gaining popularity, is that right?

[Reporter] Yes, true to its name, it is a fusion dessert made by placing tomato sauce, pepperoni, and cheese on top of crumbly baekseolgi (traditional white rice cake).

[Reporter] Recently, YouTube and social media have been flooded with waiting vlogs of people lining up before opening to buy pizza seolgi, as well as tasting reviews and DIY making videos.

[Reporter] The place considered to be the origin of pizza seolgi is a neighborhood rice cake shop in Yeongdo, Busan.

[Reporter] A young owner who took over the family business added a youthful touch to traditional rice cakes, and this menu went viral through short-form videos.

[Reporter] The craze is now spreading to rice cake shops nationwide.

[Reporter] At one rice cake shop in Incheon, daily sales surged from 200 to a maximum of 6,000.

[Reporter] Another rice cake shop in Gwangmyeong had to suspend reservations due to a flood of orders ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
