There is reportedly an office worker who continues to go to work as usual even after winning first place in the lottery, and it is drawing envy.
Recently, an office worker in their 30s posted a verification message on an anonymous online community for workers, stating they won first place in the lottery.
The person, identified as an employee at a major domestic conglomerate, said they were dying to tell someone and could no longer hold it in, sharing a screenshot of the winning screen and their bank deposit details.
They also detailed the process of claiming the prize money at the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup) headquarters, revealing that they received about 1.2 billion won after taxes.
However, they noted that after paying off all their loans and buying a new car, there was not as much left over as they expected, adding that they would likely have to keep working.
Still, they shared how their mindset had changed, saying that going to work no longer felt unpleasant and they no longer worried about performance reviews or promotions.
They also revealed plans to visit their hometown for Chuseok to inform their parents of the win and buy them a house or a car.
Netizens reacted with comments such as, "With 1.2 billion won, even your steps on the way to work would feel different," and "It really sounds enviable to go to work without worrying about performance or promotions."
