The Prime Minister of Norway has stated that a plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy almost collided with a drone during takeoff.

In an interview with Norwegian public broadcaster NRK on the 9th local time, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said, "The plane carrying Zelenskyy heading to Norway was almost struck by a drone the day before just as it was about to take off from Moldova," adding, "This is the reality he faces."

However, Prime Minister Støre did not mention the source of this information, how close the drone came, or who was behind the attack.

Moldovan authorities have not issued a specific statement regarding Prime Minister Støre's remarks.

On the 8th, aircraft takeoffs and landings at the capital Chisinau Airport in Moldova were temporarily suspended after two Russian-origin drones entered Moldovan airspace.

It was reported that one of the drones that violated Moldovan airspace crashed into a field, while the other continued flying and entered Romanian airspace.

President Zelenskyy arrived in Oslo on the evening of the 8th local time to attend the funeral of Norway's King Harald V, where he met with Prime Minister Støre and other senior Norwegian cabinet ministers to discuss military support, including air defense assistance for Ukraine.

Norway, which shares land and sea borders with Russia, is considered one of Ukraine's strongest supporters in Europe.
