President Lee Jae-myung stated, "My term is clearly limited by the Constitution."

President Lee, who is currently on a state visit to France, made the remarks while explaining the reason for his busy overseas visit schedule early in his term during a meeting with Korean residents.

President Lee's remarks are interpreted as a rebuttal to claims by the conservative opposition and others that he might push for a constitutional amendment to allow consecutive terms.
