The man in his 30s featured in the viral video dubbed the "Suwon drug zombie" has been arrested.

Judge Choi Yu-shin, the senior warrant judge at the Suwon District Court, issued an arrest warrant for Mr. A, a man in his 30s facing charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, following a pre-arrest interrogation (warrant review).

Judge Choi stated the reason for issuing the warrant, citing concerns that the suspect may destroy evidence.

Mr. A is accused of possessing a small amount of methamphetamine at his residence and receiving and administering psychotropic drugs from an acquaintance.

Previously, Mr. A became the subject of drug use suspicions after a video spread showing him walking hunched over with his arms dangling and stumbling near a bus stop in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, on June 22.

He was emergency arrested the following day after testing preliminary positive for methamphetamine in a quick drug test, but was released after a urine test came back negative. He had since been under police investigation without detention after a detailed hair analysis by the National Forensic Service returned a positive result.

Police uncovered additional charges, including finding a small amount of methamphetamine during a search and seizure at his residence on July 6, and subsequently requested a pre-trial arrest warrant on the 4th.

Mr. A has denied some of the allegations, including the charge of administering methamphetamine.
