The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced that four hand sanitizers currently being distributed on the market have failed the active ingredient content test.

To ensure the quality of hand sanitizers, the ministry collected and tested 100 hand sanitizer products distributed both online and offline.

As a result, four products were found to fall short of the content standards. The ministry has ordered the respective manufacturing and importing companies to suspend sales, recall, and discard the products, and plans to take administrative action against them.

The content test measures the amount of active ingredients in a product and is a key evaluation item for determining the effectiveness of hand sanitizers.

The ministry explained that if the content falls below the standard, hand sanitizers may not provide sufficient sterilization and disinfection effects.
