A man in his 40s who habitually engaged in "dine-and-dash" offenses and threatened business owners while under the influence of alcohol has been sent to the prosecution under arrest.

The Cheonan Dongnam Police Station in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has transferred the suspect, a man in his 40s identified as A, to the prosecution on charges including obstruction of business.

A is accused of habitually disrupting business operations and creating a disturbance—such as drinking approximately 3,000 won worth of alcohol without paying and threatening the owner at a convenience store in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, at around 2:00 a.m. on the 3rd.

Police investigations revealed that A repeatedly committed minor offenses, such as eating side dishes belonging to other customers at pocha (tent bars) or taking out and drinking alcohol inside stores, with a total of 13 calls made to the 112 emergency hotline over the recent eight-day period.

It was also revealed that A continued to commit crimes while already undergoing police investigation without detention for previous charges including obstruction of business and obstruction of official duties.

Police stated, "Even if the damage from individual cases is minor, if there is a high risk of reoffending, we will respond strictly through investigations with the suspect in custody."
