Director Yeon Sang-ho's new film "Paradise Lost" has been invited to the Gala Presentation section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

The Gala Presentation is a flagship section of the film festival that carefully selects and introduces new works by world-renowned master directors or the year's most buzzed-about hot topics, featuring direct encounters between directors, lead actors, and audiences. "Paradise Lost" will be introduced to domestic audiences for the first time as an Asian premiere at this year's Busan International Film Festival.

Based on the original novel "Black Inferno," "Paradise Lost" is a mystery thriller depicting the events that unfold when a son who went missing returns in a completely different form after nine years. It deals with a story of plunging into severe confusion between a virtual son restored through AI and the real son who returned with an unfamiliar appearance. Actors Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyun-sung take on the lead roles, and the film is expected to deliver Director Yeon Sang-ho's signature gripping immersion and high-density psychological warfare.

The 31st Busan International Film Festival will be held for 10 days from October 6 (Tuesday) to October 15 (Thursday) around the Cinema Center area.
