Wall Street Falls as Middle East Tensions and Rising Oil Prices Weigh on Markets; Dow Drops 1.2%

Major U.S. stock indices closed lower across the board on the 8th (local time) amid surging international oil prices and growing inflation concerns driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East.

On this day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 628.18 points (1.18%) to close at 52,786.07.

The S&P 500 dropped 45.08 points (0.58%) to finish at 7,673.52, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite declined 85.58 points (0.32%) to end the session at 26,421.41.
