A 12-vehicle pileup occurred on a road in Nam-gu, Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, at around 5:30 PM today (Sept. 8), leaving 13 people with minor injuries.

According to fire authorities and the police, a 25-ton dump truck plowed into the vehicles stopped ahead at a red light, causing a chain-reaction collision involving 12 vehicles.

A total of 13 people were aboard the involved vehicles, two of whom are receiving treatment at a hospital.

Police believe the dump truck driver caused the accident while under the influence of alcohol and are investigating the exact circumstances.
