The Ministry of National Defense announced today that it has dispatched a fact-finding team to the Middle East ahead of a decision on deploying troops to the Strait of Hormuz, a move requested by the United States.

According to the ministry, the fact-finding team departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the weekend and is currently inspecting operational conditions for a potential deployment unit locally.

The team is reportedly scheduled to return home as early as this week.

Upon their return, the findings of the investigation will be reported to the National Security Council (NSC).

A Ministry of National Defense official stated, "We dispatched a fact-finding team to assess the local situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The team's purpose is to evaluate the regional security situation and safety conditions, and this dispatch does not presuppose an actual troop deployment."

The official added, "Nothing has been finalized regarding troop dispatch."

This explains that while the team was sent to the Middle East to help inform the decision on whether to deploy troops, a deployment to the Strait of Hormuz has not yet been decided.
