Professional baseball team Hanwha Eagles extended their winning streak to four games, fueled by Ryu Hyun-jin's stellar pitching for his 9th win of the season and Kang Baek-ho's 30th home run.

Hanwha secured a 6-1 victory against the Doosan Bears in their home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League held at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon today (the 8th).

With their fourth consecutive win, 7th-place Hanwha narrowed the gap with the 5th-place Doosan Bears to 8 games, keeping their slim hopes alive for the autumn postseason.

Hanwha starting pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin shut down the Doosan lineup, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits (including 1 home run), 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts over 6 innings, picking up his 9th win (5 losses) of the season.

Ryu, who had gone 10 consecutive games without a win (3 losses) since claiming his 8th win of the season against the KIA Tigers in Daejeon on June 11, finally tasted victory after a long drought.

In the batting lineup, Heo In-seo and Kang Baek-ho ignited home runs to tilt the momentum in Hanwha's favor.

Heo In-seo launched a 2-run homer, his 18th of the season, in the 2nd inning, and Kang Baek-ho blasted a 2-run homer, his 30th of the season, in the 3rd inning.

Both home runs were hit off Doosan starting pitcher Choi Seung-yong.

Kang Baek-ho, whose previous personal best for a single season was 29 home runs hit during his debut season in 2018, reached the 30-home-run milestone for the first time since his debut with this shot.
