A delivery customer requested a full refund for 100,000 won worth of food, claiming that a "bug was found in the raw fish." However, upon retrieving the dish, only four pieces of fish were left—everything else had been entirely consumed. The photo of the questionable "bug" was sent via email three days later.
The restaurant owner, who ended up losing the food revenue and even having to cover the round-trip delivery fees, protested to the delivery platform, asking, "Shouldn't the food be retrieved and inspected before issuing a refund?" However, the platform maintained its stance that "there is no refund process regarding foreign substances." Expressing extreme frustration over a system that issues unconditional refunds while leaving merchants to shoulder all the costs, the owner asked: Is an "unconditional refund" really the best way?
