Actor Park Hae-il reflected on the significance of playing a character who demonstrates the mission of the press and the duty of a journalist in the movie "The Assassin(s)".

Attending the press and distribution preview for the movie "The Assassin(s)" held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong on the afternoon of the 8th, Lee Minho shared his thoughts on playing a reporter character for the first time since his debut, saying, “I felt that we are living in an era where sensational titles are considered more important than the truth from a certain point on. With the diversification of content called 'media,' including the press and individual YouTube channels, I felt it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish between what is true and what is false. In that sense, I missed the convictions of people who pursued the truth in an era I haven't lived through, and becoming that kind of person was my personal pursuit.”

Regarding the aspects he focused on while playing Yeong-il, he said, “If senior Park Hae-il portrayed Jae-hwan as a character who appears static on the outside but expresses dynamic aspects within, I wanted Yeong-il to be like a lively, flapping fish.” He added, “I had many conversations with the director from the beginning. Even during rehearsals on set, I thought about blocking and movement that would utilize my physical actions as much as possible. As for styling, since Yeong-il comes from a well-off background, rather than trying hard to hide it, I wanted to keep it from being excessive while highlighting the advantage that having a journalism job does not mean his personal items are poor.”

"The Assassin(s)" tells the story of tracking the suspicions and mastermind behind the first lady sniper incident that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. Directed by Hur Jin-ho, who made "One Fine Spring Day" and "The Last Princess", the film stars Yoo Hai-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Minho.

The movie is scheduled to be released on September 23.
