The city of Busan announced that it has appointed new heads for 7 of its 12 affiliated public institutions that had been facing vacancies, including the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency.

Song Sung-jun, former head of the SBS Busan Bureau, has been appointed as the CEO of the Busan Cultural Foundation.

The city appointed Kim Jong-cheol, CEO of AI Collabo and former Naver official, as the head of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency; Kim Su-jin, vice president of Rokit Healthcare, as the head of the Busan Institute for Startup and Venture Investment; and Kim Yoon-gyu, a professor in the Department of Theater at Cheongju University, as the CEO of the Busan Cultural Center.

In addition, Kim Jung-ah, CEO of J Comms, was appointed as the CEO of the Busan Global City Foundation; Kim Yoon-kyung, a professor in the Department of Advertising and Brand Design at Kaywon University of Art and Design, as the president of the Busan Design Promotion Agency; and Cho Jun-young, former member of the Geumjeong District Council, as the head of the Busan Women's Family and Lifelong Education Promotion Agency.

The city stated that the latest appointments actively selected figures equipped with expertise, field experience, and youthful leadership capable of driving change and innovation.

The heads of the Busan Credit Guarantee Foundation, the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, and the Busan Techno Park—whose terms ended en masse alongside the former mayor on June 30—are scheduled to be appointed next month following confirmation hearings.

New open recruitments will be held for the CEO of the Busan Cinema Center and the president of the Busan Institute of Science & Technology Evaluation and Planning.
