Cheongju Sangdang Police Station has arrested two individuals, a man and a woman, including a suspect identified as A, on charges of causing the death of a woman in her 20s after coercing her into a physical fight with two teenage girls.

The couple is accused of forcing a woman in her 20s, B, to sequentially fight two teenage girls, including one identified as C, at a park in Yongam-dong, Cheongju, at around 12:20 a.m. last May.

Victim B was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest after being assaulted by C and the other teenager, but ultimately passed away.

At the time, suspect A and the other suspect told police, "B lost consciousness after falling while playing tag and having her facial area crushed by the hips of someone running behind her."

However, through an autopsy of the body and a search and seizure of mobile phones, police reportedly uncovered circumstances showing that although B and C did not want to fight, A and the other suspect forced them to do so under the so-called "Yacha Rule."

The "Yacha Rule" is slang referring to a method of fighting without any rules or protective gear.

Police have also booked the two teenagers, including C, without detention on charges of assault resulting in death.
