Actor Jeon Do-yeon captivated film professionals and audiences in Venice with her stellar performance in the film "Possible Love".

On September 6, local time, Jeon Do-yeon attended the 83rd Venice International Film Festival held on the Lido of Venice. As the lead actor of Netflix film "Possible Love", which was invited to the competition section, she received high attention by completing official schedules including a press conference, the red carpet, and the world premiere.

Stepping onto the red carpet in a long black dress, Jeon Do-yeon responded to the flashing spotlights with a relaxed and confident smile. At the subsequent world premiere, the audience gave Jeon Do-yeon and the "Possible Love" team a standing ovation and cheers lasting about seven minutes, heating up the venue. Alongside the film's release, major overseas media outlets also spotlighted Jeon Do-yeon's performance.

Major US media outlet Variety wrote, "Jeon Do-yeon delivers one of the most delicate and multi-layered performances of the year." The review highlighted her performance, noting how she reveals the character's inner self and builds up emotions meticulously through (Mi-ok's) "bright yet guarded gaze."

IndieWire raved, "In less than two decades since her first collaboration with director Lee Chang-dong in 'Secret Sunshine', Jeon Do-yeon delivers yet another once-in-a-century masterclass in acting." The Hollywood Reporter similarly stated, "Jeon Do-yeon, who captured the best actress award at the Cannes Film Festival with her unforgettable performance in Secret Sunshine, brings an equally profound emotional impact as Mi-ok in 'Possible Love'."

US awards-focused media outlet AwardsWatch praised Jeon Do-yeon's detailed expressive power, stating, "Jeon Do-yeon's performance stands out in particular," noting how even fleeting, minor gestures reveal the character's life and background.

Next Best Picture also noted, "While all four lead actors deliver impressive performances, Jeon Do-yeon stands out the most among them," adding, "She expresses Mi-ok's will to pursue long-suppressed freedom with her unique lively charm. She also delicately captures the aspect of a character who treats those around her comfortably while clearly recognizing the tension surrounding herself."

"Possible Love" tells the story of a laid-off worker and his wife, alongside a documentary director and her husband, two couples who meet to produce a documentary and confront their different lives and hidden desires. Jeon Do-yeon plays Mi-ok, the wife of laid-off worker Ho-seok (played by Sul Kyung-gu), anchoring the center of the story.

Jeon Do-yeon became the first Korean actor to win best actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007 for Secret Sunshine, her first collaboration with director Lee Chang-dong. Earning the modifier "Queen of Cannes" since then, Jeon Do-yeon now aims for an award at the Venice International Film Festival through her second collaboration with director Lee Chang-dong in about 20 years. As "Possible Love" received the highest ratings following its Venice premiere, expectations are high not only for awards for the film but also for her acting award.

"Possible Love" is set for theatrical release on September 23 and will be released via Netflix on November 6.
