For the first time since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, a U.S. special envoy delegation has visited Ukraine. Possibilities are also being raised that dialogue, which had been suspended between Russia and Ukraine, could restart.

Steve Witkoff, U.S. President Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, and Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Visiting Ukraine for the first time since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, the U.S. delegation immediately sat down at the discussion table.
It is reported that the U.S. delegation, which had met with Russian President Vladimir Putin a day earlier, discussed ways to resume peace negotiations based on the conversations shared with the Russian side.
Notably, delegations from European countries such as France and Germany also attended this meeting.
After the discussions concluded, Special Envoy Witkoff stated that substantial progress had been made toward resuming trilateral peace talks involving the United States, Russia, and Ukraine.
[Steve Witkoff / U.S. Presidential Special Envoy: "We feel very positive about the conversations held in Moscow and the conversations taking place right here."]
In relation to this, the Russian side also stated that while it is still too early to discuss specific locations and times for trilateral talks, the possibility of resuming trilateral talks cannot be ruled out.
[Dmitry Peskov / Kremlin Spokesperson: "We also do not rule out the possibility of resuming trilateral talks. However, it is premature to mention the venue and specific timing of the talks at this point."]
Trilateral talks began early this year and continued until February, but after failing to find a common ground on core issues such as territorial demarcation, they were suspended following the outbreak of the U.S.-Iran war.
While the atmosphere is sparking a revival of peace talks, both sides continued attacks immediately after the U.S. special envoy delegation departed, suggesting that there is still a long way to go before a resumption of the dialogue phase.
