A body has been found inside the freezer of a large cafe in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The victim was a woman in her 60s who had been reported missing, and police have arrested and are investigating the cafe owner.

This is a large cafe located in Munsan-eup, Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

After receiving a missing person report for a woman in her 60s in the early hours of the 4th, police tracked her mobile phone's location to this spot and discovered the woman inside the walk-in freezer.

At the time of discovery, she was already dead, and her body was reportedly frozen.

This cafe was created by remodeling a warehouse.

Currently, a closed sign is posted like this, and the doors are tightly locked.

[Nearby Resident: I thought it was strange that there were no customers. They weren't there the next day either, and then it seemed like the police came.]

Police identified a man in his 30s surnamed A, the owner of the cafe who was with the victim on the day she went missing, as a suspect and apprehended him in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on the afternoon of the same day.

Police arrested A on the 6th on charges of luring and murdering the woman in her 60s, explaining that they are still investigating whether she was abandoned in the freezer after being killed or locked inside the freezer to die.

While proceeding with an autopsy on the deceased woman, police are reportedly questioning A regarding his motive and the existence of any accomplices.

Tens of billions of won worth of counterfeit department store gift certificates were also reportedly found inside the freezer.

Police are investigating whether these gift certificates are related to the circumstances under which the two individuals met.

The cafe, popular enough to draw customers from outside Paju, posted a notice online on the 3rd announcing a temporary closure and stating that it would "resume normal operations from the 4th," but it is currently suspended from business.
