Today (September 7) is Baekro, one of the 24 solar terms, which marks the time when white dew begins to form on grass leaves.

The daytime sun remains hot, but once the sun sets, you can feel the cool autumn air. Throughout this week, true autumn air is expected to set in even more fittingly for the season.

This is the wind field in the lower atmosphere of the Korean Peninsula. Starting tomorrow, we will be under the influence of a high-pressure system expanding from northern China.

Daytime temperatures will climb to around 30°C (86°F) through tomorrow, but starting the day after tomorrow, a cold high-pressure system will gradually expand further into our country, keeping days from becoming excessively hot.

However, you should watch out for large temperature differences between day and night for the time being.

Tomorrow morning's low is expected to drop to 18°C (64°F) in Seoul and 16°C (61°F) in Daegu, but under the blazing afternoon sun, temperatures will rise sharply to around 30°C (86°F).

As the easterly winds have weakened somewhat, the rain and wind along the east coast have subsided today, but rain will resume from late tomorrow afternoon.

Until the day after tomorrow, 5 to 40 mm of rain is forecast for Gangwon Yeongdong and the northern coast of Gyeongbuk.

Let us look at tomorrow morning's temperatures.

Seoul will start at 18°C (64°F) and Daegu at 16°C (61°F), similar to or slightly lower than today, while daytime highs nationwide will reach around 30°C (86°F), feeling as warm as today.

Later in the week, as cold air moves down, morning temperatures in Seoul are expected to drop to 16°C (61°F).
