A four-vehicle collision occurred at 8:15 a.m. today (the 7th) at the 11.5-kilometer mark of Incheon Grand Bridge in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, heading toward the airport.
In the accident, a man in his 50s was injured and transported to a hospital by 119 emergency services, but his life is not in danger.
Due to the aftermath of the accident, traffic was restricted to one lane out of the three unidirectional lanes, causing a traffic congestion stretching about 4 kilometers.
Consequently, office workers commuting to Yeongjongdo and visitors heading to Incheon International Airport experienced major inconveniences during the morning rush hour.
Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the accident scene and statements from witnesses.
A police official stated, "The injured person does not appear to be seriously hurt," adding, "The congestion is expected to clear as the towing of the wrecked vehicles has been completed."
