A woman is walking down a street in Pernambuco, Brazil.

Suddenly, the asphalt beneath her feet begins to collapse.

The woman tries desperately to hold on, but ends up falling right into the sinkhole.

Fortunately, people nearby rushed over to rescue her, and she reportedly did not sustain serious injuries.

Local authorities believe that leaking water from a damaged sewage system weakened the ground, and have launched restoration work.
