Singer MC Mong has apologized to singer and actor Kim Min-jong about four months after raising suspicions linking him to illegal gambling.
During a live broadcast yesterday (September 5), MC Mong announced that he met with Kim in person and offered an apology.
On the broadcast, MC Mong said, "I once again apologize for causing misunderstandings regarding Min-jong," adding, "Mentioning senior Kim Min-jong itself was my fault."
He added, "Today (September 5), the two of us successfully cleared up the misunderstandings regarding senior Kim Min-jong's alleged involvement in gambling, and he warmly hugged me."
It was reported that Kim accepted MC Mong's apology.
Kim's side stated, "He did not push away the belated apology from a junior who realized his mistake and bowed his head first, but instead accepted him with a generous heart."
They added, "Although he was a junior who targeted him and caused severe financial and psychological damage, he reached out first and warmly embraced someone who belatedly repented for his wrongdoing."
During a live broadcast last May, MC Mong claimed that an illegal gambling gathering involving celebrities existed and pointed to Kim as one of them.
Kim immediately and strongly denied the allegations, and filed a complaint with the police against MC Mong on September 1 for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
