▲ Fire at Paju film manufacturing plant
A fire broke out at a film manufacturing plant in a national industrial complex in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, at around 10:00 a.m. today (September 4).
The fire, which started in one building and spread to another, was fully extinguished about five hours later at around 3:00 p.m.
While there were no casualties, the fire sent thick black smoke billowing into the sky, prompting a total of 50 reports to emergency services.
Fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at 10:26 a.m., 23 minutes after the fire broke out, and upgraded it to a Level 2 response at 10:42 a.m. A total of 67 pieces of equipment and 168 personnel were mobilized to put out the blaze.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
