The contents of a police report capturing the situation when a man in his 30s, a public official, went to find his wife—who was undergoing divorce proceedings—and murdered her in front of their children have been revealed.

The transcript of the emergency call at the time, released through the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Kun-young, vividly contained the situation during the crime.

The suspect, A, is accused of murdering his 30s wife, B, on the stairs of a multi-family housing building in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, at 7:17 AM on the 1st.

B had been hiding by moving to a new residence to avoid A, who was undergoing divorce proceedings with her, but A tracked down her whereabouts, which had been exposed in the divorce papers, and brandished a weapon.

Young children were also present at the crime scene, but A ruthlessly murdered his wife without paying attention to them.

At the time of the attack, B made a 112 emergency call using a smartwatch provided by the police, and the situation was recorded through the smartwatch's communication function.

According to the recorded report contents, entries such as "Only crying sounds heard," "A male voice appears to be heard," "Only crying sounds continue to be heard," "Mom, mom (appears to be a child crying)," and "Baby, come here, come here" were documented.

After arriving at the scene, the police immediately transported B to the hospital, but she ultimately passed away.

B had filed reports related to domestic violence five times since March of last year.

In a consultation B received after visiting the Suwon Jangan Police Station last April, she explained, "I was slapped the day before," and "During an argument with my husband, he held a knife and threatened me, saying, 'It will only end when one of us dies.'"

That same month, she directly visited a police box to receive counseling regarding "domestic violence (verbal abuse and threatening behavior)," and in May, she filed a report stating, "I am reporting my husband for verbal abuse."

Suspect A, who was arrested immediately after the crime, was investigated as having committed the crime because he anticipated receiving an unfavorable outcome in the divorce proceedings with his wife.
