The Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO) announced that it has indicted Judge Ji Gwi-yeon of the Seoul Northern District Court without detention on charges of violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act over suspicions of receiving entertainment at a room salon.

Judge Ji is accused of having two lawyers pay for approximately 4.09 million won worth of alcohol at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, around August 2023.

The CIO stated that it did not apply bribery charges because a connection between the entertainment and the judge's official duties was not proven.
