Girls' Generation's unit group HRS (Girls' Generation-HRS) has emerged as the center of attention, landing at No. 1 on YouTube charts with their debut song "Skibidi".
Released on August 31, the new track "Skibidi" combines a diverse composition starting with house and transitioning into hip-hop, along with the message "We are carving our own new path." The song maximizes HRS's cheerful charm and is currently claiming the No. 1 spot on YouTube's top trending music chart in South Korea.
In addition, the performance video for "Skibidi" captures HRS delivering sensational choreography in simple styling consisting of white t-shirts, jeans, and snapbacks. It proved its explosive popularity by ranking No. 1 on the daily popular music video chart in South Korea (as of September 1).
Riding this momentum, HRS is set to appear on MBC's "Show! Music Core" broadcast tomorrow (September 5) to stage their official debut performances of the title track "Skibidi" and the b-side track "Lowkey In Love." As a result, much attention is focused on the vibrant stages HRS will showcase.
HRS is a project that originated from the "Fake Kim Hyoyeon" content on Hyoyeon's personal YouTube channel "Hyo's Level Up".
Members Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Choi Soo-young drew massive attention as they competed for positions such as main vocal and center. Amidst this high interest, their debut song "Skibidi" has garnered positive responses by immediately entering real-time and daily charts on major domestic music platforms.
Girls' Generation's fandom is cheering for the arrival of "HRS," who brings a new kind of charm following "TaeTiSeo," the vocal-line unit group formed by Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun in 2012.
In particular, while HRS differs from TaeTiSeo in that it is a unit composed of dance members, it is drawing keen attention for its entertaining growth narrative that rivals vocal lines.
