U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States has provided hundreds of billions of dollars worth of free support to Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), signaling that he intends to demand and recover those costs.

On the 3rd local time, President Trump took to his social media to criticize U.S. media reports regarding the depletion of U.S. military weapon stockpiles, claiming, "The Joe Biden administration gave more ammunition to Ukraine without billing them than we spent in Iran."

He emphasized, "Hundreds of billions of dollars went to Ukraine and NATO for free. That is a cost Europe should have paid." He added, "Although a bit late, we will be asking for that money back."

President Trump harshly criticized the U.S. media's reports on weapon stock depletion as "treasonous garbage," countering that the United States possesses near-limitless supplies of medium and high-end ammunition.

He further explained, "Furthermore, we are producing ammunition at an unprecedented level, stockpiling and preparing for any possible emergency. While we are securing [ammunition] for the U.S. rather than selling it elsewhere, sales to allies will soon begin."

Although President Trump did not specify how he plans to request the hundreds of billions of dollars, analysts note this aligns with his recent pressure targeting allies such as South Korea and Japan, citing a lack of cooperation regarding the war with Iran.
