Xiaomi has introduced its humanoid robot, CyberOne, in Berlin, Germany, signaling the potential application of robots in manufacturing sites.
During a media event held on the 3rd local time, a day ahead of the opening of Europe's largest home appliance trade show, IFA 2026, Xiaomi unveiled CyberOne and announced that it is verifying its performance by deploying the robot for actual manufacturing tasks at its electric vehicle plant.
According to Xiaomi, CyberOne was deployed for bolt-tightening tasks at the EV factory.
The company explained that as a result of testing for about four months, the task success rate improved from approximately 90% to 98%.
Xiaomi is reportedly utilizing its own manufacturing environment as a testing ground for robotic technology to advance CyberOne's perception, control, and task-execution capabilities, while also verifying the potential application of humanoid robots in the smart manufacturing sector.
At this year's IFA, CyberOne is also showcasing interactive capabilities with visitors in real-time, performing gestures such as finger hearts and thumbs-up.
This marks Xiaomi's first participation in IFA.
The company has set up its largest-ever independent overseas exhibition hall spanning over 3,300 square meters, planning to showcase not only CyberOne but also around 380 products, next-generation technologies, and real-world use cases.
At the core of the exhibition is the "Human × Car × Home" smart ecosystem connecting smartphones, smart homes, and electric vehicles.
Powered by its proprietary HyperOS operating system and artificial intelligence (AI), Xiaomi plans to demonstrate an integrated experience where smartphones, smart home devices, and EVs interconnect.
It is also showcasing proprietary technologies such as AI and semiconductors.
Notably, the company is unveiling its first flagship smartphone equipped with the next-generation XRING O3 chip, the Xiaomi 18 Fold.
Three electric vehicles are also on display.
Through vehicles including the futuristic concept car Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, the new Xiaomi SU7, and the high-performance flagship model Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the strategy is to present automobiles as a core axis expanding into the smart ecosystem.
After delivering its first electric vehicle in 2024, Xiaomi has delivered a cumulative total of more than 700,000 vehicles in mainland China, and plans to enter the European market, including Germany, in 2027.
The product lineup of smart home brand Mijia is also being presented.
Mijia spans over 2,000 products across more than 130 product categories.
Xu Fei, Xiaomi's Chief Marketing Officer, stated, "Our participation in IFA this year marks an important milestone in Xiaomi's global journey," adding, "Xiaomi's business and technological capabilities are being connected into one through the 'Human × Car × Home' smart ecosystem."
To strengthen this technological competitiveness, Xiaomi plans to invest more than 200 billion yuan, approximately 40 trillion won, in research and development (R&D) from 2026 to 2030 in areas such as AI, operating systems, proprietary semiconductors, smart electric vehicles, robotics, and smart manufacturing.
