China is accelerating the expansion of its global air logistics network by newly launching 115 international air cargo routes so far this year.

Citing data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), the Global Times, an English-language newspaper affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party's flagship People's Daily, reported on the 3rd that the number of newly opened international air cargo routes in China reached 115 from January to August.

As a result, weekly round-trip international air cargo flights increased by 292.

By region, Asian routes accounted for about half of all new routes with 57.

Additionally, 41 European routes, 13 North American routes, 3 African routes, and 1 South American route were newly established.

During the single month of August, 11 international air cargo routes were added, increasing weekly round-trip flights by 34.

The Global Times explained that the cargo transported through these new routes mainly consisted of e-commerce goods, advanced manufacturing products, high-value-added goods, electronics, and auto parts.

The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing stated that the establishment of China's international air cargo transport network has continued to accelerate this year.

Meanwhile, last year, China newly opened a total of 214 international air cargo routes, among which 104 were Asian routes and 83 were European routes.

China's civil aviation cargo and mail transport volume reached a record high last year at 10.172 million tons, an increase of 13.3% from the previous year.
